Wales is the first country in the world to have a footpath path that runs the entire coastline around a country.
The 870 miles / 1,400 km long path shows off some of the UK’s most diverse and stunning coastline - it’s no wonder the Lonely Planet voted the Welsh coastline the number one region in the world to visit in 2012. Coastal walking is big in Wales - walkers on the Welsh coast contributed £84 million towards the Welsh economy. The Wales Coast Path has supported more than 1,000 jobs. It is becoming an important asset to the Welsh tourism industry.
