Where is Wales’ Best Place? 

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI Cymru) have been collating your nominations  for your best place in Wales over the summer months.  The top 10 best places have been whittled down by Wales Best Place Judging Panel from over 200 nominations from the public.  

The finalists are:   

  • Aberaeron, Cerdigion * 
  • Caernarfon, Gwynedd *
  • Cardiff Bay Inner Harbour, Cardiff *
  • Denbigh, Denbighshire
  • Gower, Swansea *
  • The Hayes, Cardiff
  • Llanduduno Promenade and Mostyn Street, Conwy County Borough *
  • Merthyr Tydfil Town Centre, Merthyr Tydfil
  • Snowdonia, Conwy and Gwynedd *
  • Tenby, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park *


An amazing 7 out of the 10 of these great places (marked with an asterisk *) are on or near the Wales Coast Path!

Visit the RTPI website for more details, voting is open until Friday 30 September 2016 and there are 3 easy ways to vote.    We’d love to see a coastal place win the top spot!
